It is the most recent river beach in the country, it is located on the left bank of the Zêzere with 3500 m2 of sand.


The Ribatejo village of Constância is still celebrating with the recent opening of the river beach, which already refreshes and entertains locals and tourists alike. Located on the left bank of the river Zêzere, the river beach of Constância has excellent water quality – the next achievement is the Blue Flag – and has an extensive beach area of ​​3500 m2, which holds about three and a half hundred people.

In addition to the more than desirable water and the natural beauty of the huge sandy area, this new beach is equipped with all the necessary infrastructure for the comfort and well-being of its visitors, such as hutted sun umbrellas, lifeguards and grassy areas. To complement the offer, in the vicinity of the new River Beach of Constânciaopened on the 10th of July, there is also a picnic area, leisure areas, toilets, restaurants and a camping area.

Until the 16th of September there is also a daily entertainment program on the beach, which includes everything from a library to sunset parties, including water, sand and traditional games. Every Wednesday and Saturday, boat trips are scheduled.

“Fulfilling all the requirements regarding the quality of bathing water and assistance to bathers”, as the Mayor of Constância, Sérgio Oliveira, said at the inauguration, the new river beach thus increases the tourist offer of Constância, both for those who live in the county, as well as for all those who choose the territory as a leisure destination.

In the center of the village, observe the Wall of Poets, an artistic intervention of urban art by Massimo Esposito, which pays tribute to three of the great poets, who, among others, passed through Constância: Luís de Camões, Vasco de Lima Couto and Alexandre O’Neill. Halfway between Constância and Vila Nova da Barquinha, the Almourol castle, standard-bearer of the Templar presence in this territory, which stands on a small island in the middle of the Tagus. To experience the bucolic scenery live, there are boats that make the connection between the Tancos pier and Almoutol. Since the beginning of this year, the place has also been the main attraction of the new Panoramic Trail of the Tagus. You can travel the length of about 11.5 km along the riverside, both walking and cycling, in a linear route starting at the Nautical Center, between the mouth of the river Zêzere, in Constância, and Vila Nova da Barquinha.
